He sees you. He has always seen you. And frankly he is not impressed.

Suspicious Character is an original acrylic painting capturing a guinea fowl in an expressive contemporary folk art portrait style — intricate black line detail across a striking white face, a bold mohawk helmet, vivid orange beak and red wattle, all set against a soft lavender background that gives this bird an almost regal quality.

The detail work in this piece is extraordinary up close — every line on that face tells you exactly what this bird is thinking, and what he is thinking is that he has serious reservations about everyone and everything around him. If you have ever met a guinea fowl you know this expression is completely and totally accurate.

I should know — I actually have guineas myself on the Crystal Coast of North Carolina, and this look right here is just Tuesday for them.

Hand painted in my studio on canvas — Suspicious Character arrives signed, with a certificate of authenticity, and carefully packaged ready to make his presence known in your home.
